6月29日（金）、埼玉大学生協において、環境科学?社会基盤国際プログラム（社会基盤創生コース）に入学した留学生の歓迎パーティーが開催されました。2017年10月及び2018年4月の新入留学生（出身国：アジアおよびアフリカ11か国）24名を含む在学留学生36名の他、日本人チューター等総勢46名が参加し、多様性の溢れる会となりました。
新入留学生は出身国のグループごとに、事前に準備したスライドを活用して自国の紹介を行いました。習いたての日本語を積極的に使用して自己紹介する学生も多く、研究のみならず、日本での生活に前向きに取り組んでいる姿がうかがえました。
A welcome party for new foreign students of the International Graduate Program on Civil and Environmental Engineering was held on June 29, 2018 at COOP in Saitama University. A total of 36 foreign students, including 24 new students from 11 countries across Asia and Africa, who were admitted to the program under the October 2017 and April 2018 intakes, were welcomed. The total number of participants reached 46 including Japanese tutors, faculty members and staffs from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
The new foreign students introduced their home country through well prepared slides in country wise groups. Many students tried to use there recently learned Japanese to introduce themselves. It gave us the impression that the students are not only working hard on their studies but also making great efforts to adapt themselves to their new life in Japan.
